Would a Whole Body Vibrator help in body building? & body building tips please?

September 4th, 2010 · Body Building Protein

I am planning on using Dymatize "Mega Gainer" Whey Protein for body building. I have a whole body vibration platform at home, and I am wondering if it would be helpful in any way, for example. a warm up, or a cool down. Oh and I have a home gym at home, does anybody have a recommended daily training guide?

Soy vs. Whey Protein – Which is better for women? NOT for body building.?

September 2nd, 2010 · Body Building Exercise

I recently ran across a recipe for a smoothie that calls for whey or rice protein. Because I have no idea where to find rice protein I’m going for either whey or soy. I’ve heard that soy protein is better for women but the research that I’ve done usually leads me to body building sites. I’m not trying to "bulk up" so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Here’s a bit of background on me: I’m not a fan of eggs (or egg whites) so I never eat them – I usually skip breakfast and on days that I don’t I just have a Low Fat Yoplait yogurt. I don’t want to bulk up and I don’t exactly go around lifting weights – but I also don’t want the protein to make me gain weight b/c of my lack of exercise.I walk a lot and once in a great while I’ll do a spinning class. I sit behind a computer for 7 hours a day but I am trying to be a bit more active. I’m 5′4 and 130lbs – so needless to say I AM trying to lose some weight (at least 10lbs) and trying to kick off by eating better. I’m trying to get into the habit of at least having a smoothie in the morning (instead of the morning coffee) but most I find call for some sort of protein powder. Which would you recommend for someone that’s just trying to get a good/energetic start to her morning?

Is this a good workout plan for weight loss and muscle building? Keep in mind i am 5′7 and 155, and i used to only do indoor cycling.
Monday: Running 45 min ( 5 km)
Tuesday: Step class ( 1 hour)
Wednesday: Indoor Cycling or running ( 45)
Thursday: Indoor Cycling and weight training ( 45 + 1 hour)

Let me know what you think, i am trying to add in running because i know if i do to much of cycling my body will get used to it to fast. If you have anymore suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated

How to write a Book Review?

September 1st, 2010 · Body Building Book

I have to write a Book Review on Aladdin and other tales from Arabian Nights. The thing is I never done one before. I’ve written Book Reports but it’s not the same thing, as they say:

" This is not a book report. A book review requires you to go beyond a mere summary, and inquire into the overall meaning and worth of a work"

I dont know what that means.
My assignment paper tells me what should be in my assignment. Here’s what it says:

Writing a review as an assignment in a history course has at least 4 important objectives:
1) Effective Writing
2)Building substantive knowledge about a particular historical topic
3) Devoloping an understaning of the nature and use of historical research completed by others
4) Establishing an ability to think critically about the work of others.

*end*

I do not understand # 3 and 4. I know I shouldn’t have taken Ap History.
Can some one explain it to me? I’m 13 though so please don’t use big words.

The book is only 198 pages and I have to write a 3-5 page essay.
I doubt it would be that long.
Can someone help me please?

This is just extra info on what it must include,

i. A discussion of the authors thesis or POV.
1. Why did he/she write the book?
2. What point is the author attempting to make?

ii. A discussion of the authors supposting evidence, that is, his’her proof of an argument.
1. To what extend did the author generalize without specific evidence?
2. Were there faulty conclusions?
3. How did the author prove his/her thesis?
4. Was the evidene interwoven throughout the body of the text in manner that is consistent with proving the authors thesis?

iv. A discussion of the significance of the book.
1. What are the valuable messages?
2. What intellectual questions has the author raised in your mind?
3. How does a book like this affect the way people percieve this topic?

And then I have to think of my own ideas and questions about the book.
If someone could help me on this I would relly appreciate it because I don’t understand what they are asking.
Especially roman numeral ii, iii, and iv #2.

And also how do you think I should start this review? I was just gonna put the title, author, how the book is split up, and summarize a little bit, but obviously they want more. :(

    Building Upper Body?

    August 31st, 2010 · Body Building Exercise

What are some good exercises to build the upper body, just to basically make it toned but with a little mass.

I’m basically looking for my body to be in this shape http://bestweekever.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/justin_timberlake_4.jpg

I plan to work out 3 days a week such as every mon. wed. friday. I have my own workout room here at my house with a treadmill, dumb bells, bench press, situp recliner, bike.

I’m 6′0 and just below average I’d say. My stomach is already hard just not toned to where you see the abs.
I already have a good diet. I drink nothing but water, I don’t eat junk food, I eat fruits daily as well.
